1936 wurde der faschistische Putschversuch Francos von einem anarchistisch und sozialistisch geprägten Bündnis gestoppt. Es folgte ein blutiger Bürgerkrieg, in dem es den antifaschistischen Kräften nicht nur darum ging, den Faschismus abzuwehren, sondern auch darum, eine freiheitlich-sozialistische Gesellschaft zu errichten. Am 11.07. schauen wir uns die ökonomischen sowie gesellschaftlichen Errungenschaften dieser Zeit an, betrachten die Organisationen, welche den Aufbau der Arbeitermacht trotz Bürgerkrieg geleistet haben, woran sie gescheitert sind und diskutieren was wir noch heute aus ihren Erfahrungen lernen können. Wie üblich gibt es auch Leckereien sowie heiße und kalte Getränke.

Anarchist café – 90 years Spanish revolution
In 1936, Franco’s attempted fascist coup was halted by an alliance shaped by anarchist and socialist forces. A civil war ensued, in which the anti-fascist forces sought not only to repel fascism but also to establish a socialist society. On July 11, we will examine the economic and social achievements of that era, look at the organizations that built workers‘ power amidst the civil war, the reasons for their failure and discuss what lessons we can still learn from their experiences today. As usual, there will be snacks and hot and cold drinks.
